Grit blasting
There are several variants of the process, using various media; some are highly abrasive, whereas others are milder. We use our experience and training to determine the best substance for the job. When grit blasting boats to remove antifouling, we use a variety of techniques to protect polished and interior areas.
We also protect our relationship with boatyards and boat owners alike, by taking immense care to contain any debris and contaminants. Removal is optional. Grit blasting is also highly effective in removing osmosis, rust and old paint.
Grit blasting is also used on properties both internally and externally on stone, steel and timber surfaces.
These often include barns, cottages and other stone buildings as part of the renovation process. Examples of this kind of work range from a complete internal clean of a fire damaged, steel-built warehouse, to exterior clean of heritage / listed buildings, including green oak structures.
Cleaning of internal beams, stairways and fireplaces is undertaken sensitively using fine grit and low pressure. When working on buildings, we ensure work is undertaken in the most suitable conditions to ensure minimum disruption and invasive dust.
We undertake smaller projects such as gates, playground equipment, trailers and wrought iron fire surrounds.
Doff cleaning
What can DOFF be used for?
How does it work?
What is DOFF most effective in removing?
- Paint coatings (most oil and plastic types)
- Certain types of graffiti
- Bird or vermin fouling

- The Old Grammar School in Camelford
A number of local schools – that were cleaned and repointed
Steam cleaning and Jet washing
We use a trailer-mounted Karcher commercial system to deliver these services. This comprises a commercial scale hot water system, enabling us to complete work quickly and efficiently, using a range of heads to suit the job.
With pressures up to 5000 psi / 350 bar, this system has proved its worth on building sites and in the municipal sector and on domestic projects where excellent results, efficiency and noise control are key.
Where the project involves large, areas such as patios, decking, and driveways including block paving, we recommend steam cleaning using our commercial flat surface cleaner. We use a soft wash system that may include the use of chemicals if appropriate to clean render, walls, and other vertical surfaces.
